Joel's new wheels
We got the truck fixed just in time to have the Passat break. We were driving home form Ogden a few weeks ago when all of a sudden the car shuts off on the freeway right before the Centerville off ramp. Thanks to Joel's brother's girlfriend's dad we got the car towed to a mechanic. Much to our horror the mechanic told us the timing belt broke. We were in shock...we paid to have the timing belt replaced last March. The mechanic said the car still had the original timing belt on. The car has 145,000 miles so the timing belt had lasted a long time. Needless to say we are livid with the mechanic that we paid last March to change it. So, for the past 2 weeks 6 foot 7 in, 250 lbs Joel has been riding this to and from work.

Bear Lake
We went to Bear Lake this past weekend with out friends/neighbors the Rawlings. We had so much fun. We got there late Friday night and set up camp in the dark. We reserved a camp site online and it ended up being on the East side of the lake about as far east as you can go. The best part about the camp site was it was quite. We woke up the next morning and decided to find a new camp site on the other side of the lake where there is beach and shake stands. We ended up at the KOA...so we did not really camp the second night.
This is us breaking camp Saturday morning.

Here is a horrible picture of us freezing on the beach. Joel is the only one who dove into the chilly waters that morning.
We got the tent set up in 6 min 36 seconds that includes the air mattress being blown up and all the sleeping bags inside!!! Building a fire that evening on the other hand took about 2 hours. Neither Eagle Scout could get a fire going so finally the ladies stepped in. We were toasty warm by the time Marc got back from the KOA store with one of those fire logs. We were cooking the hobo dinners in no time...go girls!!! We had a secret fanning technique that i should have caught on film. But i forgot to take pictures of the trip. Here we are at LaBau's for lunch. It was a fun weekend.

Chicken Saag!!!
Chicken Saag is the best thing to come from India that i know of. I love it!!! When ever we go out for Indian food i can't resist it. So, we decided to make some on our own. It was really fun. We had to buy some weird ingredients at the grocery store. We made naan, Indian flat bread and Chicken Saag, a creamy spinach and chicken dish. Is tastes way better than it looks. My co-workers did not appreciate me bringing it for lunch the next couple of days...they are so uncultured.

Truck
So, one day my truck would not start. Joel being the handy fellow that he is did some internet research and decided it must be the starter. Joel has never worked on a car in his life!!! But, he decided after watching a you tube video of some one changing the starter on a car that he could change the starter on my truck. So, he did it, we waited anxiously to see if the truck would start after that. Unfortunately the starter was not the problem, so Joel went back to the internet. He figured it must be a wiring problem so he starts messing with the wiring from the battery to the starter and sure enough finds the severed wire. We find out that you have to buy the whole wiring harness with is like $500 bucks so Joel came up with his own wiring system. Held together with heat shrink connectors from my days at Fastenal. The truck is now running like a champ.

Crest!!!
I was brushing my teeth with a new tube of Crest toothpaste the other morning and Joel asked me why i wasn't using the already opened Crest in the drawer. I told him it was because it tasted funny and i did not like it. Joel's response was "at least your consistent"...I was a little confused. Joel then went on to explain. While i was napping one day he squeezed a tube of Collage into an empty Crest tube!!! He was testing me to see if i really could tell the difference between the 2 toothpastes. Since we have been married it had been a big debate what toothpaste to buy. I'm a Crest addict and he grew up on Colgate. Well, I think i finally won the battle. We are officially a Crest house hold. And next time i take a nap i will have to put some games and puzzles out for Joel so he stays occupied. I could not stop laughing at my ridiculous husband all day long.
