Tanning

We decided that Carley need a tan so we hit up the tanning bed with her. Just kidding. She was a little jaundice so the doctor had us rent a bili bed and torture our baby for 24 hours. She was okay in the afternoon but she cried all night which made me cry all night. It was by far the worst night ever!!! When we went to have her bili levels tested the next day the nurse mentioned a bili blanket...I was PISSED!!! The blanket goes in their clothes so you can still hold them and don't have to stick them in a tanning bed. Luckily we just had to use the bed over night. Now i can look at the pictures and just think how ridiculously funny she looks.

Yesterday my mom suggested that we put her in a window so she could catch some real rays. We put the mask on her eyes and gave it a try. She loved it she pushed the mask off and turned her face right to the sun. Just like her dad she loves to sunbathe. I think i will strip her down this afternoon and let her whole body get a tan.

Perfection!!!!

Carley is finally here!!! She arrived at 4:30 p.m. on Friday weighing in at 8 lbs 13 oz and 19.5 inches long. She is perfect!!!

Her first picture as Joel is cutting the cord. A cool shot I think but not a very good picture of her.

Labor was great for me....once i got the epidural. The nurse kept bringing me popsicles and ice while Joel and i just chilled. We started a movie but did not get to finish it.

Joel wasn't so comfy during labor. They just don't make couches big enough for him.

Carley started out weighing 8.13 by the end of the night she had pooped herself to 8.7. Here is Joel changing diaper #3 of 5 for the night. My mom and Joel's mom did not believe her length so they re measured her and are convinced that she is really 20 inches long. Grandparents are so funny.

Here she is after her bath and all done up. We can not stop holding her and staring at her.

I am convinced that there is nothing more tender in the world than seeing your husband cuddle your baby. We are all doing well and i am convinced that i have the best baby in the world. She did not even cry when they poked her foot to draw blood today she just squeezed my finger a little harder. We are all glad to be home from the hospital. She is eating and sleeping so well. If we could stop staring at her we would get a lot more sleep also. She is too fun!!!

We tried to send everyone a picture message Friday night with the news. Apparently there were lot of people that did not get our message. Sorry. I guess our phones got overloaded and we did not realize. We also learned that the i phones don't get picture message...LAME!!! Stay tuned for lots more pictures. I have to go nap with the baby. What a great job!!

Induction Attempts

Well, I our little girl was due Friday Feb 13th...she is still not born!!! I have been trying for weeks to induce labor NOTHING has worked. I guess our little girl is stubborn...good luck Joel! Here are some things we have tried.

I have the best neighbor ever!!! For the past 3 weeks Megan and Bentley go on daily walks with me.

I have been bouncing on this exercise ball for hours.

On the 10th we got an induction/pregnancy pizza from Cafe Trio. It had whole cloves of garlic and tons of mushrooms it was so gross...and it did not work!!

On the 11th Megan gave me a reflexology foot massages. Did i mention i have the best neighbor ever!! The massage was so relaxing and nice I could do that every day.

On Feb 13th we had a ward Valentines dinner/dance. Joel and I are on the activities committee so we went and set up chairs and tables. I was the first one to get my limbo on. We danced all night and wowed everyone with a lift!!! Good this Joel is strong. It was the most fun i have ever had at a ward party. We got a couple more suggestions on how to induce labor that night. When i got a cold and did not go to church on Sunday everyone thought that the dancing had done the trick...sure fooled them.

At the ward party we sat by a girl who induced labor with Blue Cohosh. I looked it up online and it sounded promising. Blue Cohosh is an herb used for most uterus related problems and has been used for centuries. So we got some Blue and Black Cohosh and i took that as recommended by some web sites.

I read on the internet that to get the baby to be born you need to send it loving, positive thoughts and energy. So we have been trying to only say and think positive thoughts about STILL being pregnant. We hope she feels loved.

So, here i am still cooking up this kid. My face, hands and feet swell on a daily basis but that is ok. I still feel great with i get my nap so i really should not complain. My father in law got me a gift certificate to get a pedicure that i used today so at least my sausage toes look cute when they induce me on Friday. Lets hope the pitocin works!!!

I can't wait to take pictures and blog about this little girl. We still have not decided on a name for sure. I think it will be Carlie or Carley or Kennady. As for a middle name we have no clue but we both want her to have a middle name. Hopefully we will be inspired. She is teaching us so much already...like patience. I can't wait to meet her and see if she has Joel's dimples, cross your fingers!

Missing

Last night when we got home from a night out with friends we realized that my ankles were missing!! They just disappeared. I was hoping to find them this morning when i woke up but they were still gone. Then after sacrament i could barely get my shoes on. So, I waddled on home and left Joel at church all by himself to enjoy his new calling of Sunday School 1st councilor. LOL. Now we have to go to Sunday School. Heavenly Father sure does have a sense of humor.

Lesley, you got your wish...I know have cankles!!!

Oh Christmas Tree

We took our Christmas tree down at the beginning of January and it has been sitting in out garage ever since. I have called every city department from PG to Provo that i could think of to find out where to take the tree to recycle it and no one knew. Some guy in PG's public works department told me there was a green waste facility on the border of PG, AF and Lindon just on the other side of the freeway...NOT helpful at all. So today I decided to see what would happen if i just stuck the tree in garbage.

Joel thought this so was funny. So, it has been blogged to keep the hubby happy. My neighbor sure was laughing when she came outside and saw me wrestling with the tree to get it to stand up in the garbage can. Good times.
